Abstract
The Theme Park Environment is a web-based environmental information system for the general public developed within the Environmental Information System BadenWürttemberg (UIS). It serves as a platform for the presentation of environmental information with close reference to Baden-Württemberg for the interested public. This paper presents how authors can easily combine information objects to composed structured presentations of topics in the Theme Park by using an ontology model and the underlying web framework WebGenesis®. The ontology defines a semantically rich structure to the otherwise largely unstructured multimedial information parts (web pages) of the Theme Park. Object properties (i.e. relations) between information objects within the ontology are not only used for dynamically generating the main navigation structures in the Theme Park Environment but also allow easy reuse of information parts in different information contexts.

Abstract
Semantic Network Service (SNS) provides shared terminology access and indexing services for environmental and geospatial information systems since five years (http://www.semantic-network.de). Having started closely related to the German Environmental Information Network (GEIN), SNS has emerged as a trusted reference for many systems, such as the German Environmental Information Portal (PortalU), the German Spatial Data Infrastructure (GeoPortal.Bund) on the federal level, and others on the state level. From applying the librarian approach of subject indexing to the Web, the focus has moved towards a more intuitive full text search assistance, and is currently shifting to semantic data integration.

Abstract
For many tasks regarding environmental protection the observation of rather complex situations is characteristic. As support for these tasks integrated environmental information systems are necessary. This paper gives an overview over some approaches which allow the development of either integrated environmental data bases or ones that can be extended and integrated at a later date. Firstly, the basic approach for integrated environmental databases is presented – the data warehouse (DW) with integrated management of geographical data – as well as alternatives: DWs with integrated application for data collection, with external management of geographical data, and with specific applications for mass data such as measured values. Secondly, some aspects of data modelling with respect to content and techniques are pointed out; in detail these are units, chemical substances, biological taxonomy, (aggregated) measured values, conventions for database schemata, object type catalogues and version management.

Abstract
The management of groundwater resources for the supply of German cities and suburban areas has become a matter of public interest during the last years. Negative headlines dealt with cracks in buildings as well as damaged woodlands and inundated agriculture areas as an effect of varying groundwater levels. At present the required data is logged and stored by each legal authority of each federal state and the local water supply companies since an holistic management of groundwater information does not exist. This paper describes an approach to combine all information witch are related to water supply and groundwater monitoring (e.g., water level, water quality, rainfall, conveyance-masses, drilling profiles). In the south of hessian this approache is already realised – since 2003. Within the internetpotal www.grundwasser-online.de all water supply companies, legal authorities and engineering societies share there data and provide selected data for the public. This paper doesn’t give an answer to the question how this portal can be extended, but it is collecting ideas and points out possibilities.
