Höhere Kommunikationsprotokolle am Beispiel Bildschirmtext

Abstract

Traditionelle Datenfernverarbeitung und Datenbanksysteme verschmelzen zu Informationssystemen zeitgemäßer Prägung; neutrale Kommunikationsprotokolle bilden die technische Basis für neue, anspruchsvolle Anwendungen der Informationstechnik. Mit dem OSI-Referenzmodell und den daraus abgeleiteten Normen leistet die internationale Normung einen wesentlichen Beitrag zur technischen Verständigung zwischen unterschiedlichen Kommunikationssystemen. Der Artikel beschreibt im Teil 1 grundsätzliche Aspekte der Systemkommunikation und der Normung von Kommunikationsprotokollen; Teil 2 behandelt die Einbindung von neutralen Protokollen in eine vielschichtige Anwendungsumgebung, Bildschirmtext.SummaryTeleprocessing applications and database systems grow into a common information processing environment. Based on standardized communication protocols, new information services and applications are developed and introduced. The OSI Reference Model and its related standards created by the International Standards Organization, will simplify and enhance the ability to communicate between heterogeneous data processing systems. In part one, this article describes fundamental aspects of systems communication and standardization of communication protocols. In part two, an implementation of OSI-based protocols, as used in the German interactive videotex (Btx) is introduced.
