dc.description.abstracti2b2 has proven to be a valuable tool for a variety of tasks in clinical and translational research. But to establish an extended IT infrastructure, several clinical information systems have to be connected seamlessly and routine data integration processes have to be defined. In this position paper, we will outline a number of options that would enhance the existing software stack with regards to semantic precision and maintainability and would expand i2b2's field of application.en
