The risk of potential water erosion is computed on a raster cell basis using elevation and soil data which are expressed by two factors soil erodibility and slope steepness. The SIte COmparative Method (SICOM) is used to evaluate the heterogeneity of these factors inside the borders of field blocks. With the help of this approved method a set of indicators are provided to support the evaluation of the potential risk of water erosion inside a field block. It is demonstrated that this approach is suited for the evaluation of larger areas. Statistical data regarding the erosion risk are tabulated and maps provided.de
