Base Technologies for Distributed Environmental Information Systems
Autor(en):
Zusammenfassung
This tutorial presents base technologies for distributed environmental information systems that rely on open Internet technologies. These include the World-Wide Web (WWW), the object-oriented programming language Java, and the Common Object Request Broker Architecture CORBA. We show how these technologies can be easily combined to build architectures of loosely coupled components, in which single components still retain their autonomy. Several case studies from German and international projects that cover different aspects of envirgnmental information systems are presented.
