Flood Knowledge and Sharing of Experiences via Internet

Abstract

Disastrous floods that lately took place in Poland, resulted in the increase of the interest of individuals in methods of flood losses reduction. The results of the survey conducted among the inhabitants of the flooded areas, concerning the perception of threats and property protection methods has been discussed. An Internet application has also been described which on the one hand facilitates the access to the information in this field, and on the other hand, makes it possible to exchange information and experience concerning flood risk, loss prevention methods and activity of various entities in this area.
