Meeting User Needs in the Development of the EUROCLIM Climate Information System
Autor(en):
Zusammenfassung
For a system to be successful, it is necessary to understand what the future users will need and want from it. The EU EUROCLIM project, led by the Norwegian Computing Centre (Norsk Regnescentral) in Oslo, has the aim of developing an advanced climate monitoring and prediction system for Europe (http://euroclim.nr.no). The role of Loughborough University on the project is to establish user needs, to assist in the development of the user interface to the system and to lead system evaluation. This paper describes the activity of user needs specification for EUROCLIM and the role of a user interface simulation to refine those needs and guide the system development team.
