Biodiversity informatics needs on the one hand sophisticated tools for the identification and monitoring of taxonomic groups like genera, species etc. for the conservation of diversity. On the other hand, the environmental knowledge derived from these tools must be delivered to the end users in ecology and agriculture in a way that makes it easy to understand and to handle. We describe the development of software layers to achieve these goals.de
