Abstract

Abstract Given strategies, e.g. for environmental policies or environmental goals are one of the most successful tools to realize sustainable environmental protection. For organizations it is possible to coordinate internal and external relationships resulting in reactions onto these influences; for public environmental departments it is a perfect verification which environmental precautions should be followed and which costs for planning, doing and checking will be accrued. But beside these facts in the real world there still exist non-clear environmental orientated strategies or miss totally. With this paper we represent an idea of how to use the fundamentals of the management instrument "Balanced Scorecards" and one of the semantic network standards ISO/IEC 13250 for Topic Maps and derive strategies and goals from only modeled general conditions.
