How to Foster Digital Inclusion of Seniors in Times of Social Distancing

Abstract

Due to increasing digitalization in all areas of life, digital competences are becoming more and more relevant for senior citizens. Digital inclusion is important for them to be able to participate actively in the digital society. With the help of workshops which are didactically oriented towards the core aspects of geragogics, barriers to enter the digital world can be reduced. But how can seniors be digitally included if such offers become impossible due to pandemic situations which are requiring social distancing without the risk of digital exclusion and thus, in a certain sense, exclusion from society for individual seniors? This Problem Statement deals with these issues.
