Wozu ist Soft Computing nützlich? Reflexionen anhand der Smart-City-Forschung

Abstract

Im Sinne der Wirtschaftsinformatik, welche sich zunehmend auch mit der Stadtforschung beschäftigt, wird in diesem Artikel zuerst auf die Systemtheorie sowie die gestaltungsorientierte Forschung als Wegbereiterin von Smart Cities eingegangen. Dabei wird das transdisziplinäre Forschungsfeld der Smart City, also die Anwendung technischer, wirtschaftlicher und gesellschaftlicher Innovationen auf die Stadt, aufgespannt. Danach wird der Fokus auf Soft Computing gelegt, welches gestaltungsorientierte Prozesse der transdisziplinären Stadtforschung unterstützt und holistische Innovationen in der Smart City ermöglicht. Anhand von ontologischem Design werden, begleitet von einem Veranschaulichungsbeispiel, das Potenzial dieser Art der Forschung aufgezeigt und deren Methoden vorgestellt, bevor ein Fazit gezogen und ein Ausblick gewagt wird. In terms of information systems research, which is increasingly concerned also with urbanism, this article first elaborates on system theory as well as design-science research as a promising enabler of smart cities. In doing so, as practice of cities technical, economic and social advances, the smart cities’ underlying transdisciplinary research ground is introduced. Next, the focus is on soft computing that supports the design-science research processes of transdisciplinary urbanism and, thus, enables holistic smart city innovations. Then, rooted in ontological design, the potential of this kind of research and associated methods is offered, accompanied by an illustrative example, before a conclusion is drawn and a look ahead is presented.
