Based on global product development, unification of HMI concepts in the automotive sector plays an important role. To understand the scope of the HMI globalization or the need for regional adaptations, several investigations with participants from China, North America and Europe have been carried out. Different display aspects like color and labels were tested with the help of flash animations, computer simulations and prototype components. The results show that for color a global HMI solution can be found, whereas for item labels regional differences do exist.de_DE
